By law you are required to check the safety of your car once a year if the car is more than three years old. We are an MOT garage in Mitcham, where the test is carried out by experienced professional mechanics. They will determine whether your car meets the minimum road safety and environmental standards. Several checks are done to ensure these requirements are met. Without a valid MOT certificate, you will not be applicable for road tax and your car insurance becomes invalid.
An MOT is valid for one year. You will need to renew your MOT certificate within a month before your existing MOT certificate expires. At The South London Garage we do our customers the courtesy of reminding them when their MOT is due.
If your car fails its MOT and the current certificate has expired you are only legally allowed to drive it to a pre arranged appointment to address the factors that caused it to fail.
